Richard Feng

Richard Feng began studying at Silverman Music Studio in second grade with no prior musical experience. He quickly stood out for his exceptional talent, focus, and rapid mastery of the violin. Supported by a strong practice routine and a dedicated family, Richard soon expanded his studies to include piano and viola, building a well-rounded and deeply informed musical foundation.

Driven by a passion for performance, Richard has excelled in every major audition he’s taken—earning coveted spots in ensembles such as the Interschool Orchestras of NYC Concert and Symphony level orchestras, Stuyvesant Symphonic Orchestra, the New York Pops’ Kids on Stage, the Lincoln Center Festival Orchestra, and the Summer Arts Institute at the Frank Sinatra School, where he collaborated with the New York Philharmonic and Lincoln Center festival orchestra.

He is a regular performer at premier venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Symphony Space, and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Josh Groban, Karen Olsen, and Steve Reineke. A standout in both violin and viola, ranked among the top 50 youth musicians in New York State according to the NY York State School Music Association for his superior auditions on violin viola where he achieved scores of 100 on all level 6 solos he has ever performed.

Sansu

Sansu Tun joined the Silverman Music Studio in 6th grade as a late beginner violinist, determined to grow but unsure of the path. Under expert guidance, she progressed rapidly—advancing to a pre-professional level (NYSSMA Level 6) in just three years. Her talent and dedication earned her placements in top ensembles including the All City Youth Orchestra, Third Street Music School’s Chamber Program, Interschool Orchestras of New York, and the New York Youth Symphony.

At the Summer Arts Institute at the Frank Sinatra School, Sansu made a successful transition to viola, which led to an extraordinary opportunity: performing on a Grammy Award-winning album for Best Orchestral Performance during her senior year of high school.

Sansu now studies Neuroscience on full scholarship at the highly selective Macaulay Honors Program in NYC, while simultaneously pursuing a Viola Performance degree and performing with her college orchestra.
